In Cape Coral, an impact single-hung window costs about $900 to $1,800 installed, a non-impact window $550 to $950, a 2-panel impact slider about $3,500–$7,000, and a complete home of 15 to 20 impact openings $18,000 to $40,000. Repairs mostly fall between $120 and $700.

Every figure below is an installed price: taking out the old unit, plus the new window, anchors, sealing, trim, disposal and the permit paperwork. We found no window pricing published for Cape Coral or Lee County specifically, so the ranges are built from Southwest Florida installer pricing and regional cost guides, adjusted for the Cape’s block-and-stucco homes.

Whole-house projects

Count the sliders and most Cape Coral houses have 15 to 20 openings. All-impact, that is usually $18,000 to $40,000. The low end is a modest ranch with mostly standard single-hungs and one slider; the top end has tall picture windows, a wide lanai door and dark frames throughout.

What pushes a Cape Coral quote up or down

  • Size and count. Larger glass costs more per window but less per square foot.
  • Impact vs shutter route. Impact costs more up front; the shutter route adds the cost of shutters you may not already own.
  • Frame color. Bronze and black frames generally cost more than white.
  • Glass options. Low-E, gray tint and privacy glass each add a little.
  • Waterfront exposure. Canal and river homes sometimes need products rated for higher design pressure.
  • Opening condition. Any rotten buck or cracked stucco gets fixed before the new unit goes in.
  • Two-story work. Second-floor windows call for scaffolding or a lift.

Why two quotes for one house can differ

It’s common to see bids on one home differ by several thousand dollars, and padding is seldom the explanation. Usually they are pricing different things. One counts the slider and one leaves it off. One quotes white frames and the other bronze. One builds in stucco work and the permit fee; another adds them later as extras. One quotes an impact product rated for your exact openings, the other a cheaper line that may not be approved for the larger sizes. Ask every installer for a line-by-line quote showing the product, the approval and what is included, then compare like for like.

Paying for it

Most owners pay a deposit when windows are ordered and the balance after the final inspection. By state law, Florida insurers have to discount premiums for protected openings, so it is worth asking your agent for a quote with and without them. State grant programs for hardening homes have opened and closed over the years; check whether one is accepting applications before you order.

All figures here are typical-home estimates for the Cape rather than quotes. Your own price comes from measuring each opening, and we put it in writing line by line.

Pages for each job: replacement, impact windows, new installation, sliding doors, repairs, energy-efficient glass. Homes over the bridges in Fort Myers or North Fort Myers, or further south in Bonita Springs, are priced on this same scale.

Cost questions

Does the price include the permit?

The paperwork and the inspection visit are. The City’s permit fee depends on the job value and is shown separately on the quote.

Why are bronze frames more expensive?

Colored finishes cost more to produce and are made in smaller runs than white.

Do you charge for the measure?

No. Measuring and writing up the quote cost nothing, and you’re under no obligation afterwards.

Are cheaper windows worth it?

Only if they carry an approval for your opening sizes. A low price on an unapproved product fails inspection and costs more in the end.
