Most window repairs in Cape Coral cost $120 to $700: a sash balance $120 to $300, a fogged insulated pane $250 to $700, a cracked single pane $200 to $550. Replacing a cracked laminated impact pane runs about $500 to $1,400.

Not every window problem needs a new window. A unit that is otherwise solid can often be put right in an hour or two, and that money is better kept for the windows that really are finished. We check what is wrong first, then quote the repair.

Repairs we handle

  • Fogged or foggy glass. A failed seal lets moist air between the panes. We replace the insulated glass unit in the existing frame.
  • Cracked or broken glass. Single-pane, insulated and laminated impact glass, cut and set to fit.
  • Sash balances. When a single-hung sash slams down or won’t stay open, the balance has broken. We fit the matching part.
  • Casement and awning operators. Stripped cranks and seized hinges, common on homes near the water.
  • Locks and latches. So every window actually closes tight.
  • Sliding door rollers and tracks. The sliding glass doors page goes into detail.
  • Screens. Rescreened in fiberglass or pet-resistant mesh, or new frames made to size.
  • Leaks at the frame. Resealing the perimeter where caulk has cracked or pulled away from the stucco.

Repair or replace?

If patching a unit would just postpone the inevitable, we’ll tell you. Parts for older aluminum windows are getting hard to find, and when several parts are failing on one unit, a replacement is usually the better buy. If the frame is solid and just one part has failed, repair it.

After a storm

Cracked impact glass, torn screens and blown seals are typical after a strong blow. Impact glass that has cracked but stayed in the frame has done its job and should be replaced before the next storm. Photograph the damage before anything is moved; your insurer will want to see it.

Repair prices are estimates for common jobs, not a quote. The real cost depends on the part, the glass size and whether it can be sourced for your brand of window.

Repair questions

Is a foggy window fixable without a new frame?

Usually. We put in a new sealed glass unit and leave the frame, for far less than a whole window.

Can impact windows be repaired?

Yes, laminated impact glass included. The replacement pane must match the window’s approval, so we order it to spec.

Is there a minimum charge?

Small jobs are priced individually. If you have several small fixes, we do them on one visit to keep the cost down.

How soon can you come?

Most repairs are booked within a week or two; glass is cut to order, so it may be a second visit.
